Kim VanDerLinden
Vice President, Assessment Programs
Kim VanDerLinden is a nationally recognized assessment professional who leads all assessment related content strategy development at StudentVoice.
A leading voice among the national dialogue on assessment practice, Dr. VanDerLinden has delivered over 100 presentations and workshops on assessment and is currently an adjunct faculty member at Canisius College where she teaches the course on Research Methods and Assessment.
Equally comfortable in both academic and student affairs and four-year and two-year settings, Kim previously coordinated student affairs assessment, utilizing StudentVoice, at the University of Utah and worked in institutional research at the College of DuPage, where she assisted with the accreditation process under the guidelines of Academic Quality Improvement Project.
Dr. VanDerLinden holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University.
John White
Director, Assessment Programs
In serving as the lead contact for all StudentVoice Member Campuses, John White is responsible for maintaining relationships with a network of student services, institutional research, and assessment professionals, as well as leading all internal assessment coordinators and support staff at StudentVoice. In addition to his management role, John also maintains an active presence in the coordination of assessment and evaluation projects, including the design and implementation of assessment projects at several Member Campus institutions.
Prior to joining StudentVoice, John was responsible for assessment efforts for the Department of University Housing at the University of Georgia. John's past experience also includes student affairs roles at Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech and Northern Arizona University. He has given presentations and workshops at the local, regional, and national level on topics including assessment project construction, supervision and management, and the use of student development theory data.
Dr. White holds his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia.
Marissa Cope
Associate Director
As Associate Director, Marissa Cope provides key strategic guidance to StudentVoice assessment leadership, in addition to coordinating assessment activities at numerous StudentVoice member campuses. Additionally, Marissa assists in implementation of national benchmarking studies across multiple campuses.
Prior to her position at StudentVoice, Marissa served as the Supplemental Instruction Program Coordinator at Iowa State University, coordinating academic support programs for more than 6,000 students a semester and serving on the assessment committee, concentrating on student-centered learning outcomes for learning communities. Marissa has presented at several national conferences and often gives workshops based on her extensive experience with learning outcomes.
Marissa holds her M.S. and M.Ed. in Higher Education from Iowa State University.
Assessment Consultants
StudentVoice Assessment Consultants are responsible for the coordination and implementation of assessment activities for colleges and universities including assessment design and implementation as well as the promotion and coordination of benchmarking studies across multiple campuses. Additionally, the Consultants regularly assist Member Campuses’ Academic, Student Affairs and Institutional Research departments in the creation of documentation for accreditation, presentations and internal strategic planning efforts.
Annemieke Rice
Assistant Director
Annemieke Rice previously led divisional assessment efforts for the Department of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at Northeastern University, where she was a StudentVoice subscriber. In addition to her assessment role, she was involved with accreditation, retention studies, and strategic planning at the divisional and institutional levels. Annemieke also worked as an academic advisor in the College of Business at Northeastern University. She has presented on writing and assessing learning outcomes, building assessment culture and capacity, and retaining academically at-risk students.
Annemieke holds her M.S. from Northeastern University in College Student Development and Counseling.
Amy Feder
Assistant Director
Amy Feder held several assessment roles in Residence Life at Canisius College, providing leadership on evaluations of student leaning outcomes, resident assistant performance and student satisfaction, in addition to assisting with various campus-wide programs and judicial hearings. Amy has special interest in the area of student mental health, where she has significant research experience examining the connection between body image, self-esteem, and student confidence and behaviors.
Amy holds her M.S. degree from Canisius College in College Student Personnel Administration.
Dustin Abshire
Assistant Director
Dustin Abshire joins StudentVoice from the Department of Residence Life at the University of South Carolina, where he provided extensive leadership for the assessment and development of outcomes for living and learning communities programs. Dustin previously held assessment positions at Ball State University and Huntington University, where he served on student and academic affairs assessment committees charged with institutional preparation for reaccreditation.
Dustin holds his M.A. in both Higher Education Administration and Sociology from Ball State University, where he also received his Institutional Research Certificate.
