Assistant Director, Student Involvement and Activities

The Assistant Director, Student Involvement and Activities acts as the primary resource to StudentVoice Member Campuses that utilize student engagement products within their campus involvement and activities departments. The Assistant Director is responsible for encouraging the continued development and success of campus implementations and adoption and will oversee a team of implementation and support specialists. The position reports to the Director of Assessment Programs.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor trends in the campus activities profession to assist in enhancing student engagement and improving campus programs in response to the changing needs of students and college priorities.
  • Continue the development of features and functionalities that benefits students and administrators.
  • Plan platform implementations with clients, setting team goals and priorities for the initial launch.
  • Proactively monitor campus implementations and continued adoption to ensure institutional goals are met.
  • Communicate with campuses on topics such as:
    • Evaluating programmatic and operational effectiveness
    • Enhancing program quality
    • Project administration methods
    • Engagement best practices
    • Other StudentVoice initiatives
  • Support efforts to attract and retain current and future campus clients.
  • Present on topics related to student involvement via webinars, on campus, and at professional conferences.
  • Assist the Director of Assessment Programs with projects, as assigned.
Skills, Experience, Knowledge, and Personal Characteristics

Through a minimum of two to five years of experience, with at least two years experience in two of the following areas: student union activities, leadership, student organization advising, or program development; one should possess the following skills and characteristics:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Program development and execution.
  • Basic knowledge of on-campus activities programming and operations.
  • Ability to multi-task with a high attention to detail.

Education

A Master's degree in Student Affairs Administration, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.

This position is located in Buffalo, NY and cannot be accomplished remotely from another location.


Assistant Director, Assessment Programs

Working with higher education administrators at over 400 institutions across North America, StudentVoice is the only specialized, comprehensive assessment program that combines elements of data collection, reporting, organization and integration. The Assistant Director, Assessment Programs assists with the development, design, and administration of assessment efforts for StudentVoice member campuses. The Assistant Director, Assessment Programs reports to the Director of Assessment Programs.

Responsibilities
  • Consult with campuses on assessment planning and coordination of projects.
  • Develop and review assessment projects in partnership with higher education professionals at StudentVoice member campuses, as well as national associations.
  • Provide education and training on a variety of assessment topics and practices.
  • Communicate with campuses topics including:
    • StudentVoice assessment tools and resources
    • Assessment project quality
    • Project administration methods
    • Data analysis and reporting
    • Assessment best practices
    • Other StudentVoice initiatives
  • Work to ensure assessment projects are built in a timely fashion and are of high quality.
  • May be required to visit campuses and/or attend conferences to represent StudentVoice.
  • Assist the Director of Assessment Programs with projects, as assigned.
Skills, Experience, Knowledge, and Personal Characteristics

A minimum of two to five years experience in higher education or student affairs administration, preferably with responsibilities for assessment, is required. In addition, qualified candidates should be able to:

Support and QA Specialist

The role of the Support and QA Specialist is responsible for the quality and success of customer implementations and campus adoption for the StudentVoice suite of products. This position works directly with customers to train, deploy and support Tracking software on their campus, and QA the entire suite of StudentVoice products. The Support and QA Specialist reports to the Director, Product Management.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to incoming customer questions and problems
  • Triage and escalate customer support issues and work with technical teams to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Set up and deliver customer training remotely
  • Work with customers on completing campus-specific projects and goals using Tracking
  • Proactively monitor customer implementations to ensure successful implementation and; proactively work with customers to improve their implementation and increase user adoption for StudentVoice
  • Assist sales during product demonstrations and train sales staff on system functionality
  • Work with sales team on responding to RFPs or questions from sales prospects
  • Perform Quality Assurance duties, including
    1. Developing and executing test plans, procedures, and scenarios
    2. Work with the Technology team to develop automated test scripts
    3. Perform regression tests as required
Skills, Experience, Knowledge, and Personal Characteristics

The Tracking, Implementation and Support Specialist shall have a strong command of the English language and be able to communicate clearly with customers and the entire organization. They should also possess the following skills and characteristics:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited US college or university; participation in campus organizations such as student activities or Greek life is a plus
  • 2 or more years experience supporting web-based technology
  • 2 or more years experience working with customers on a consultative basis
  • Familiarity with MS Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Experience using Adobe Photoshop and experience with XHTML / CSS is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as a liaison between technical and functional teams, both internally and externally, to appropriately triage and escalate issues
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
Education

A Bachelors Degree is required, preferably in Business, IT, or a related field.


Sr. Software Developer

The role of the Sr. Software Developer is to development the team and also be a direct contributor to web and database development projects in support of the Director of Information Technology. The Sr. Software Developer would also be responsible for developing new technologies and creating and writing plan documents. The Sr. Software Developer reports to the Director of Software Development.

Responsibilities
  • Develops new systems with an emphasis on minimized maintenance requirements, as well as maintenance and enhancements of existing systems.
  • Systems analysis design and debugging of new systems.
  • Establishes project plans, project management guidelines and supports their implementation.
  • Develops technical and user documentation for current development projects and existing applications.
  • Assist members of the development team with .NET development techniques.
  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing data architecture of the Company's product.
  • Assists the Director of Information Technology in strategic development approaches.
  • Mentors and supports other members of the IT development staff.
  • Proactively learns and utilizes new technologies, concepts and procedures as appropriate to project requirements.
Skills, Experience, Knowledge, and Personal Characteristics

Through a minimum of five to seven years of C#, and a strong background in Client-Server experience, ASP.NET, SQL Server experience, and Object Oriented Programming experience. Candidates with experience developing Facebook applications a plus.
