A Specialized Platform for Higher Education
StudentVoice offers a hosted platform that requires minimal technology support from
campus Information Technology departments or staff members.
Access
To ensure data security, online access to StudentVoice assessment resources,
projects, and results is dependent on a unique username and password for each individual.
When provided with a list of campus staff members, StudentVoice will create login
credentials and provide instructions to access the site.
Web Assessments
To ensure the successful delivery of any online assessments via
e-mail, we suggest that StudentVoice’s server be whitelisted and allowed to deliver
e-mails to your campus server. If whitelisting does not occur, e-mails from the StudentVoice
server could be blocked as spam. Alternatively, live links to assessment projects
are available for campuses to distribute via e-mail or listservs, to post to existing
web pages, or to distribute via other means.
PDA Assessments
For PDA data collection, minimal technological support is needed.
Palm software, as well as StudentVoice software must be loaded onto a campus
computer in order to HotSync the PDAs to pick up new assessment projects and download
the data to the StudentVoice reporting site.

Data Reporting
The StudentVoice assessment platform provides online reports and
data analysis tools such as frequency tables, filtering tools, graphing options,
and crosstabs. Assessment results, including graphs and saved views, can be exported
into Word, Excel, or a PDF file for inclusion in reports or presentations to share
with colleagues and other audiences. Raw data files can be exported into an Excel
or text file in order to conduct more advanced statistical analysis.
Project Dashboard
Every StudentVoice assessment project has a Dashboard that stores
relevant information about the project. The Project Dashboard provides an option
to upload documents, such as a copy of the instrument, a resulting summary report,
or a related presentation. The Project Notes section of the Project Dashboard allows
you to input information about the methodology, results, and actions taken.
Centralized Data Storage
Regardless of the method used to collect data, StudentVoice can be a centralized location
to store all of your assessment data. For example, project pages can be created
that house qualitative studies, assessment summary reports, and national datasets.
In the event that any data files (student emails or institutional data) will be
provided to StudentVoice, all data files can be uploaded to the StudentVoice reporting
site via a secure site. Once uploaded, you can utilize the StudentVoice reporting
features to analyze data and integrate with data points from other studies.
