Using Device Manager

The designated campus Device Manager, will approve the activation of the Apple device for use in data collection.

To approve the activation of a device
1) Click the myStudentVoice tab at the top of your screen.
2) Click the Devices option located below this tab.

To approve the activation of a device that has already downloaded the SV Mobile App and requested activation
1) Click on the device name listed under Pending Devices.
2) Rename the device. (This name will appear on the device screen when you are in the SV Mobile app. It is recommended that you use a consistent naming strategy so devices can be easily coordinated.)
3) Click Save.
4) Repeat for each device you have pending.
5) When you return to the Device Manager page, check the box next to each pending device you want to activate.
6) Click Approve Activation. The device will now be listed under the Activated Devices section.

To activate a device that has not yet downloaded the SV Mobile App
1) Click on Add Devices.
2) Type in a Device Name. (This will appear on the device screen when you are in the SV Mobile app. It is recommended that you use a consistent naming strategy so devices can be easily coordinated.)
3) Enter in the device ID. (You can find the ID when you connect the device to your computer and load iTunes. Select the device from the left-hand side navigation bar on iTunes, then click on Serial Number. The UDID, a unique 40-character alphanumeric ID, will be displayed. To copy this, select Edit from the top navigation bar in iTunes, then select Copy. You can now go back to SV Device Manager and paste into the ID field.)
4) Click the + sign to add multiple devices at a time.
5) Click Save.

To change the name of a device at any time
1) Click on the device name.
2) Rename the device. (It cannot be identical to any other device name.)
3) Click Save.

To view projects assigned to a device
1) Click on the device name.
2) View the list under Assigned Projects. You can also be redirected to the Project Dashboard by clicking on the project name. (Devices can only be assigned to projects by a StudentVoice staff member.)
